No matter the breed, the age, or the experiences of the dogs we love, certain dogs need training that require an expert.
Rosi, a pretty young boxer mix, was one such dog. She was given to Cameron, who works with us at Napa Fresh, by a friend. As many of you know, Cameron is a consummate dog lover, and shared that Rosi was loving to her and her daughter, but at the same time was dominant, unruly, jumped on everyone, was unfriendly to some, protective, licked people obsessively, and was sometimes dog-aggressive. That was a lot for her to deal with.
Cameron knew she needed help if she was to keep this girl, and suspected that a large, traditional obedience class might not be the solution.
She sought the advice of an expert she knew of - Ian Martin of Absolute K9 Solutions in Fitchburg. After a consult with Ian, it was agreed that Rosi would likely benefit from private obedience classes, individualized to Rosi's specific needs, in a controlled environment. Ian explained that in this environment, Rosi and Cameron's training would be highly efficient for learning and information retention. This all made perfect sense to Cameron, and she decided to move forward.
The results were astonishing.
After Cameron and Rosi trained with Ian, Rosi stopped the licking and the jumping, can be around other dogs peacefully, and is a calm, happy, well-behaved girl at home, no longer dominating the couch and the entire household! She lays quietly beside the table

while Cameron and her daughter have dinner, and is a pleasure to live with.
That's why we are telling others about Ian Martin. Although not every dog needs private training, many benefit from it, and giving those dogs training when needed, enabling them to live with their humans as well-behaved companions, is well worth it.
And it's never too early to start.
Ian has been at this for over 25 years and has extensive, ongoing training himself, helping literally thousands of dogs and their owners. This includes rescue, thousands of shelter dogs, plus training single and dual purpose dogs for sheriff's departments and municipalities.

Ian knows his stuff!
His primary focus these days is helping local dogs and their owners with specific needs, like Rosi and Cameron, and he loves what he does.
