Our dogs have been experiencing a terrible outbreak of anaplasmosis, a tick-borne disease, even though we have the perimeter of our property treated.
We are still seeing occasional ticks on our dogs that are spreading disease.
We have seen varying symptoms: lethargy, anorexia, vomiting, swollen lymph nodes, and pain, and stiffness in 7 of our dogs. All of our dogs were treated with doxycycline, and all felt better after a couple of days of treatment.
Anaplasmosis, left untreated, is a serious illness and can be fatal. Read about it here.
Know the signs and don't hesitate to take your dog to the vet to be tested.
