Winners & Judge's Notes - The Teeny Weenies
A big thank you again to Dave Lynch at Roger's Printing in Leominster, for printing our beautiful portraits, and to John Felix, our esteemed judge, who somehow interpreted the personality of each and every dog he placed! Simply amazing!
By popular request, here are the notes John wrote on his picks:

FIRST PLACE - RAKET
Owned and loved by Jo and Ward
A very, very handsome dog! Raket has a beautiful pose and expression, and the photograph brings out the lovely white and brown colors of his fur. The black accents in his eyes, nose, and collar convey an elegance that Raket surely possesses. The green of his collar also complements the green leaves in the background.
You can see just enough of his hindquarters and the tip of his tail to appreciate just how teeny-tiny Raket is. The lines in this photograph are beautiful. The top edge of the couch runs perfectly parallel to Raket’s back, creating a pleasing sense of balance. In contrast, the angles become more varied around his ears, a quality echoed by the shapes of the plant’s leaves in the background.
Overall, this is a wonderful photograph that captures Raket’s personality while combining beautiful composition, color, and line.

SECOND PLACE - ROSIE
Owned and loved by Shaunna
Rosie is cute, she knows it, and she wants the world to know it! This photograph certainly captures that confidence. Her expression suggests that she recognizes this as an important photo opportunity and willingly rises to the challenge.
The composition is especially effective. Rosie’s head is turned just enough to stand out against the pillow’s darker shade, allowing the details of her white fur to remain clearly visible. Had she been positioned just a few inches farther to the right, the contours of her white fur might have been lost against the lighter background.
Overall, this is a wonderful photograph that captures Rosie’s welcoming personality while demonstrating how thoughtful positioning and attention to background tones can make a real difference.

THIRD PLACE - LOUISE
Loved and adored by Alice & Stephen
Louise is a beautiful Papillion meaning butterfly in French – those ears – long may they wave! If the goal of photographing a dog is to capture its personality, this picture does it perfectly. But boy, does Louise have attitude and cuteness! What you see is what you get. And in this case, Louise looks to be a loving and faithful companion, confident and proud of the characteristics that make her unique.
Louise’s coloring is striking and symmetrical, grooming exquisite, and the photograph is perfectly composed.
If attitude and cuteness could be photographed, this picture of Louise would be an excellent example.
